Architecture & systems
System boundaries, distributed services, data models, integration design, security, and pragmatic technology decisions.
Senior Software Engineer · Software Architect
For more than 20 years, I’ve worked as a hands-on engineer and architect across product development, distributed backend systems, cloud infrastructure, developer platforms, and technical leadership.
About
My career spans Linux operations, web and mobile development, financial data infrastructure, cloud platforms, and modern TypeScript products. I’m most useful where systems, product decisions, and delivery constraints meet.
System boundaries, distributed services, data models, integration design, security, and pragmatic technology decisions.
Production APIs, financial data pipelines, Linux, AWS, Cloudflare, databases, CI/CD, fault tolerance, and operational tooling.
Turning ambiguous goals into shipped software through discovery, iterative planning, hands-on implementation, testing, and release.
Cross-functional alignment, architecture guidance, mentoring, developer enablement, and clear communication with technical and business teams.
Selected work
These are intentionally brief. Employment work is described at a high level to respect company agreements; independent products and research will grow into deeper case studies as they mature.
2026
A human-in-the-loop product discovery workspace that keeps client intent and engineering decisions aligned. Liaison turns confirmed conversations into a living brief while preserving role boundaries: engineering notes stay private, AI-written translations require developer review, and scope changes require client approval.
Ongoing
The reusable platform behind my independent products. It standardizes project foundations, testing, automation, and delivery so I can move from an idea to a dependable release quickly without trading away reliability.
2013–2019
As Paybook's first engineer on the financial aggregation backbone, I designed and implemented the architecture, scaling model, data pipelines, infrastructure, database schemas, operational tooling, and user-facing components. The platform was operational before the team expanded and supported integrations across Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, the United States, and Europe.
Ongoing research
A research and design project exploring portable identity, user-owned data, and communication across decentralized networks. The work focuses on protocol boundaries and trust models; it is not yet completed or proven in production.
Career
Most recently, I worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Earnest and Wizeline. Earlier, I spent seven years as Senior Software Architect at Paybook and more than a decade consulting across software development, infrastructure, security, and data systems.
